In an event held inside the Sokoto hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on May 29, 2013 as part of the  children's day celebrations, the African Street Writers unveiled the 2013 KOLA award.
As part of its corporate responsibility, Evans Publishers Ltd was not only well represented at the event but also pledged to support in any way the organizers may wish.
The KOLA award aims to celebrate African children between the ages of 7-19 who are creative and innovative. So if you know an African child in this category, simply nominate him or her.

Other highlights of the event were 4year Eneh Entonu Sharon's poem recitation titled "Our Deepest Fears" as well as Mr Onimisi's thought provoking poem titled "Food For Thought And Thought For Food". There was also musical entertainment by the trio of Suleiman, Ibrahim and Christine. On the whole it was a night to remember.Kola 1
