10 Things Jobseekers in Nigeria Should Do

Posted by Unknown On Monday, July 15, 2013 0 comments
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), on 8th May, 2013, puts the current rate of unemployment in Nigeria at 23.9 per cent with youth unemployment rate over 50%; figures so alarming and worrisome, yet, discarded by most Nigerians as false, and not reflecting the real situation. The general belief is that the figures are in reality far worse.
Other than the generally believed reason of unavailability of jobs due to lack of adequate infrastructures to support industries, among others, for the frightening dimension at which unemployment keeps growing in Nigeria, the prevalent lack of the knowledge of jobseeking tactics among Nigerians is a major cause. To this effect is a form of orientation towards the Nigerian jobseeking class necessary.
Even with the problems of unemployment haunting the nation, a lot of Nigerians still find very good jobs with ease and without having the ‘long-leg’ advantage to their sides, while others spend years in the labour market, jumping from one job to another with different funny strategies, without experiencing the slightest success.
The former set must have done some things differently.
Here are Ten (10) things jobseekers in Nigeria should do in order to tackle this ugly situation of unemployment;

BALOTELLI ADOPTS FIVE CHILDREN

Posted by Unknown On Saturday, June 22, 2013 0 comments
Mario Balotelli was the only Italian player to leave the Azzurri’s hotel despite riots in Salvador, one of the Brazilian cities hosting the Confederations Cup where the striker is known for his support of charity organisations.
La Gazzetta dello Sport yesterday quoted coach Cesare Prandelli as saying that Italy had no intention of leaving the tournament despite alerts from authorities as police try to curb widespread protests over funds spent to organise next year’s World Cup.
“Balotelli had a special permit because he looks like one of (the residents),” the coach said, “and because of the things he did here, where he has already been twice.
“It is important that he realises how lucky he is and that he helps other people.”
Balotelli tweeted during his visit: “I look like a person from Bahia,” as he was greeted by people while walking in the capital of the Brazilian state.
“Everything is quiet and there is nothing to fear,” Balotelli said. “I only fear the journalists,” he joked as he teased reporters who struggled to keep his pace.
The 22-year-old first visited Mata Escura, a favela in Salvador, in 2007, when he began supporting the local charity Acopamec and Italy’s Agata Smeralda with the long-distance adoption of five children.
Balotelli, who was born in Italy to Ghana immigrant parents, was adopted when he was 3 by a family in Concesio, near the northern town of Brescia.

Scientists Find a Cure for Gray Hair

Posted by Unknown On Friday, June 14, 2013 0 comments
grey hair 1.Sorry hair stylists, you may have a few less clients soon. It seems a team of European researchers believe they may have accidentally stumbled on a permanent fix for gray hair.
While researching a cure for vitiligo, a condition that causes the loss of skin pigment, researchers found a treatment to reverse the pigment loss, only to discover (accidentally) that it reversed gray hair at the root as well.
According to a study published in The FASEB Journal, gray hair develops from the buildup of hydrogen peroxide in the hair follicle caused by “massive oxidative stress” (cellular wear and tear) — the same thing believed to trigger some forms of vitiglio and gray hair.
As we age, our levels of an enzyme called Catalase goes down. People with the disease vitaligo are born with low levels of the enzyme. Catalase breaks down hydrogen peroxide, which causes gray hair. So the scientists created a cream with pseudo catalase, put it on the skin and hair and had participants sit in the sun to activate it. The newly strengthened enzyme eradicated the sample patches of gray hair and pigment-free skin.
“For generations, numerous remedies have been concocted to hide gray hair,” said Gerald Weissmann, M.D., Editor-in-Chief of The FASEB Journal, “but now, for the first time, an actual treatment that gets to the root of the problem has been developed.”
From do-it-yourself kits to high-end salons, the hair color industry is a multi-billion dollar business. Consumers report sometimes spending an upward of over six figures in two decades just to cover premature gray hair.
The safety of hair dyes is a hotly debated topic. Some consumer groups warn of the health risks of  hair dyes with potentially toxic mixes of chemicals linked to various health problems.  The Environmental Working Group, a consumer watchdog group, urges consumers to avoid “hair dyes with ammonia, peroxide, p-phenylenediamine, diaminobenzene– all dark permanent hair dyes.”
Although we’re sure more testing and approval will be forthcoming for this breakthrough new hair product, if all works out, a tide of change could mean a lot less spending on our do’s and a lot more on anything else.

The World Player of the Year expressed his surprise, denying the allegation.
