MANCINI SETS A PRECEDENT

Methinks this is a precedent that must be applauded. Yes, the art of hiring and firing coaches is an inseparable part of football. Mancini's case however is somewhat different.

Every now and then coaches are fired and hired but most often than not, an atmosphere of bitterness tends to enshroud such occasions

Following the recent sacking of the Man City coach, Roberto Mancini not too many were happy. In fact his assistant David Platt also threw in the towel in show of support to his boss.

But surprisingly the man at the center Mancini took an ad in the MEN today with money from his own pocket to thank the fans. Pure class

Mancini was dismissed by City on Monday following the club's failure to defend their Premier League title this season and the shock 1-0 defeat to Wigan in the FA Cup final last Saturday.
The Italian's time at the club was largely a success though. He led City to their first league title since 1968 in 2012 and also won the 2011 FA Cup in a three-and-a-half year spell in charge.
